Forwarding Emails (how to get around "potentially executable content" block)

POP/SMTP setup

From: http://forums.asmallorange.com/index.php?show...

I don't have PocoMail written up but hopefully these two I wrote will help.

Thunderbird

If you're using Thunderbird for the first time, skip to Step 3.

1. Open Thunderbird and click Tools > Account Settings...

2. Click Add Account...

3. We want to add an e-mail account. Type the name that will appear on your e-mail and your e-mail address.

4. Thunderbird needs to know your incoming (POP / IMAP) server and your outgoing (SMTP) server. Depending on whether or not this is your first e-mail account, the SMTP server may or may not already be filled in for you. Either way, the domain for ingoing and outgoing mail is mail.yourdomain.com, whether you use POP or IMAP!

5. The username for your main account (the username you use to log into CPanel) is simply the username. All secondary e-mail accounts (ones you've added through CPanel) use a login with the format username@yourdomain.com. Adjust accordingly.

6. Finally, type in a name for your new account. This name will appear in Thunderbird's account listing.

Outlook

To add an Outlook e-mail account, click Tools > E-mail Accounts... and choose Add a New E-mail Account.

A Small Orange supports both POP and IMAP access to your mail. For more information on the differences between the two, see this FAQ. Choose either option and click next.

Fill in all fields with your personal information. The username for your main account (the username you use to log into CPanel) is simply the username. All secondary e-mail accounts (ones you've added through CPanel) use a login with the format username@yourdomain.com. Adjust accordingly. The domain for ingoing and outgoing mail is mail.yourdomain.com, whether you use POP or IMAP!

Don't click Next yet! Click More Settings... and change the name of the account to something more friendly.

You need to turn on SMTP Authentication to be able to send mail through our servers. Just click the checkbox My outgoing mail server requires authentication and leave the rest alone; it's already set correctly. Now you can click OK.

Click Next. You're done!
